PG Mansa font

PG Mansa font comparison The 'PG Mansa' family is a facsimile of a person's handwriting and is provided in two weights: Medium and Bold.

In order to aid comparison, the fonts in the image on the right have been sized and spaced so that the height of the ਸ is he same and also, the leading has been adjusted so that the lines are equally spaced. In this way, you can see how large the ascenders and descenders are in relation to the body of the line content.

The Mansa font family is quite like the Dukandar family insofar as it has largely separated letters and the ੳ is fairly round with the font as a whole having a certain fluidity about it.

The biharis, on the other hand, are more like those of Adhiapak in that the tops of them are quite angular.

Overall, whereas Adhiapak is fairly upright and Dukandar slopes slightly to the right, Mansa slopes more to the left.

As always, the font characters are in the Unicode space for Gurmukhi and in the phonetic ASCII range.

Note that the Adhak and the Tippee are fairly wide so if you find that they have collided with another above-the-line feature such as a sihari, you can use the short space mapped to the underscore key to add extra space with a line as required.

I allow you to use my fonts for free because I believe that everybody should have equal access, regardless of availability of resources. If I insisted on charging for them then you would be looking at anything from around £50 for a single user to £10,000 for a single multinational film production (see here for an idea of the going rates for charged-for fonts from those who do insist that you always pay). You can see from the fact that my fonts are used in so many films that their quality is no less than that of other fonts. However, as the owner of all rights over these fonts, I give you the option of using them without paying.

If you are using the fonts for business purposes and your business model includes rewarding those who have invested in the intellectual property that you are using, then you might want to consider making a contribution towards the time, artistic and technological investment that I have made in these fonts as well as the ongoing costs of running and maintaining a production server 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, along with the other bills that go with that and so on.
