This is one way to write it.
It gives you the Gurbani character but, as you can see, it takes a lot longer to write it.

Another way to write it.
This way uses only two pen strokes and therefore is a lot quicker to write than the method above. It is also easier to write this way because the lines follow on from the end of the top line. It also gives you a good shape to the upper loop. One disadvantage is that if you are writing in a hurry, you sometimes either overwrite the upper loop with the lower one or you miss it - you can tell what it is, but it doesn't look that good.

Yet another way to write it.
If you are going to go for speed and open upper loop, this is the one to do. Many people from India use this to write and it is quick and legible.

...and another.
No real advantage over number 3 above unless you are going to draw the horizontal bar in afterwards which, with some practice, can speed things up considerably ... Write the squiggly bit below the line and then write the bar and continue it onto the next letter, saving you one penstroke/positioning (and therefore time).
